ESPN plans launch of new 3D channel this June
This coming June, ESPN will launch its new 3D channel, beginning by broadcasting the FIFA World Cup game between South Africa and Mexico. 25 World Cup games will be broadcast, including the US vs. Slovenia match on June 18, and the final game July 11. Additionally, ESPN plans to cover at least 84 more events in 3D in the next year.
DirecTV is the only US cable carrier that has said it will carry ESPN 3D from its launch. However, a Panasonic channel called N3D will carry 3D programming from CBS, Fox Sports, NBC and others. 3D programming will also be available 24/7 on a pay-per-view channel.
Ken Crane's sales associate Chuck Radar from the Torrance store recently answered questions about what equipment you need in order to set up 3D in your home. Don't miss out on the opportunity to see the FIFA World Cup - an event that happens only every 4 years - in 3D!
