Ken Crane's has always been an active member in the community. Founder Ken Crane began helping fundraising effort for many non-profit organizations in Greater LA. Today, his daughter and company VP, Pam Crane sits on the board at Torrance Memorial Hospital along with many other non-profit committees.
Like the Ken Cranes headquarters, the Richstone Family Center is located in Hawthorne. Pam says, "It is our privilege to give back to a community that has meant so much to our family." Last year's event raised almost $200,000 for the center and this year the goal is to exceed that as much as possible.
In Los Angeles County, over 162,000 children were referred to the Department of Children and Family Services in 2006 - a 3.7% increase from 2005. The Richstone Family Center specializes in child abuse prevention and treatment. The center provides outreach in the community for parents, families and children. They offer programs at the center, in local schools, and even homes. Richstone Center offers a variety of programs including counseling, mentoring, case management, parenting classes, after-school programs and support groups. In 2008, Richstone served over 4,500 children and their families. Visit their website for more information about these great community programs.
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Help out by making a general donation or registering to participate in the Walkathon.
